Where Will It End – Musica for Africa

Do you know “Musica for Africa“?

It is an important project made by African reggae artists and Mariano, who is an Italian song writer and producer.
Thanks to the collaboration of Nikki Turner, they have published a song named “Where Will it End”, which has a deep historic meaning.
The song refers to the terrible Massacre of Garissa of  April 2 (2015). What happened in this tragedy?

On this day, (precisely at 5.30 pm) a group of guerrilla fighters reached the campus of Garissa, using bombs and killing two guardians. Afterwards, they went in the university dormitory, waking up the students and asking them what type of religion they professed: Christians were killed immediately.

What was the motivation? According to the official investigation, the operation would be a work of Mohamed Kuno, a teacher who previously taught in that University who was against the Kenyan government. So, this happened for religious and political reasons.

Thus, these artists have decided to remember this tragedy through this song, which represent a hymn for those young people who were full of wishes, but they have been killed because of social ignorance.
There are two versions of “Where Will it End”:
In the first version there is the work of two African reggae artists: Thuthukani Cele, the musical collaborator keyboardist of Lucky Dube, and Mermans Mosengo, who is a member of the international group Playing for Change. The song is in English and there is the unique participation of The Witt choir, which is specialized in African tribal chants.

The second version of “Where Will it end”, has seen the collaboration of the New York singer Clayton Bryant, who is an important singer: he has worked with well-known artists such as, Elton John, Aretha Franklin, Sting, John Legend, Natalie Cole, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and others. He played the song with the important group Soweto Gospel Choir, who has even sung with U2.

The song “Where Will it End” is already available in online stores since the 31st of March 2017.

Lyrics of “Where Will it End”:

When all of your dreams have turned to nightmares
And all of your days seems dark as night
When you are the danger in every shadow
Then only you can make it right

Tell me how can you hate me
When you don’t know me
And who said you should hurt me
Before we’ve met
And tell me who was it told you
That I could never be your friend
So many lies

Where will it end
Time doesn’t care what road we walk down
Our choice the dark road or the light
We have such a tiny window to live our lives
And only we can make it right

Tell me how can you hate me
When you don’t know me
And who said you should kill me
Before we’ve met
And tell me who was it told you
That I could never be your friend
So many lies

Where will it end
